Banana Cottage is thought to date from the late 17th Century and features an inglenook
fireplace and bread oven, with original low beams predominant in the original section .

There are three guest bedrooms, one of which has a private bathroom, whilst the other two rooms share a large
comfortable shower room. Although the bedrooms are not large they convey a real English cottage feeling
with low windows being deeply set in the stone and cob walls.

The spacious guest lounge has colour television and tea and coffee facilities with plenty of reading material available.
Guests are invited to use the garden and see the free range ducks and hens, suppliers of the eggs for breakfast.

Breakfasts are cooked to order and can consist of cereal, orange juice, English breakfast, toast tea and /or coffee,
and vegetarians are catered for on request.

Many of our guests ask the question why Banana!! Cottage? Ideas have ranged from the obvious,
“Is it yellow?” or “do you grow bananas?” While one guest was even wrongly informed
that the cottage was once owned by members of the pop group Bananarama.

A clue to the answer is given on the local ordnance survey map, the 1 acre of land
that the cottage stands on is banana shaped.

A ten minute walk will take you to the village centre of North Curry, with a post office/general store,
a newsagents and two public houses both of which serve meals.
